Weekly Roundup for July 27th

No original content from me this week. Next week I will have a post about the WordPress plugins that I always use in my website builds.

Krebs on Security has a post about how Google requires physical security keys, little usb drives, to prevent Phishing on work accounts. Maybe this is something that could have wider use. Click here to read.

Newest version of Google Chrome will tell you if the site you are visiting is not secure. It will simply do this by marking sites that don’t have SSL, whose URL starts with HTTPS, warning they are not secure. Click here to read.

In more Google news, the company not content to use another companies physical security key is now manufacturing their own. It is called Titan Security Key. Click here to read more.

Because for some reason I am not done talking about Google and security maybe you should look into Authenticator. An App for Android and iOS and adds a better layer of protection than text message two-factor authentication. Click here to read more.

Finally, with the upcoming release of WordPress 4.9.8 will come the appearance of a “Try Gutenberg” Panel on the Dashboard. This will give the option to users to install the new Gutenberg Editor Plugin. This will give users a new page editor that may break pages in older themes. Do not try on a production site.
